A selection of postcards illustrated by François Lafon (1846-c1920).
At least two of these cards are from Lafon's series "La Jupe-Culotte” featuring the latest Edwardian fashion - the divided skirt - which appeared first in 1890 to give women greater freedom to ride a bicycle, ride a horse, etc., but clearly, from these images, became much more of a fashion statement for some.
