A selection of Medici Society postcards showing illustrations by Margaret Tarrant.
Margaret Winifred Tarrant (1888 – 1959) was an English illustrator, and children's author, specializing in depictions of fairy-like children and religious subjects. She was born in Battersea, South London on 19th August 1888, the only child of landscape painter and illustrator Percy Tarrant and his wife Sarah Wyatt.
Tarrant spent most of her adult life in Peaslake, in the Surrey hills. She worked until the early 1950s, at which point her health and eyesight rapidly deteriorated. In 1958, she moved out of her house in Peaslake, and joined a friend and fellow artist, Molly Brett, in Cornwall, where she died on 28th July 1959.
