Abel Faivre 1913

Jules Abel Faivre, French painter, illustrator and cartoonist, was born in Lyon, France on 30 March 1867. He attended l'École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon for three years and then the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and Académie Julian.  He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français. He lived in La Croix-Valmer in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.

Professionally, Faivre created propaganda posters for the French Army in World War I. and drew comics for Le Rire, L'Écho de Paris, and Le Figaro.  He died on 13 August 1945 in Nice, France.
