This album was compiled by my father, Cecil W French, with photographs taken by him of images related to his military service in India. They trace his travels within India and his return to the UK by sea and reflect the sights which particularly struck him on his travels.
This map accompanies the photograph album and indicates the various locations to which my father’s unit was posted. They include sites on the North-West frontier - now Pakistan - as well as Delhi, Calcutta (now Kolkata), Bombay (now Mumbai) and Bangelore (now Bangaluru).
