Tony Tompkins wins the Hugh Chamberlain Trophy 2020.
Following the disruption to regular TT Roll-up outings caused by the closure of Frilford Heath GC during the two periods of lockdown and otherwise by the restrictions necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic during the year, it was agreed that the Hugh Chamberlain Trophy 2020 should be awarded on the basis of the best average Stableford score during the period January to March combined with the results of the three month summer competition.
On this basis the clear winner was Tony Tompkins with an average of 34.39 points (18 rounds) during January - March and an average of 35.70 (18 rounds) during the summer competition.
In the hope and anticipation that recreational golf will return to something like normality during 2021, it has been provisionally agreed that the Hugh Chamberlain Trophy 2021 will be awarded on the basis of the best 25 Stableford scores (total, not average) in TTS Roll-up outings between 1st January and 11th December 2021.
Handicaps for this purpose will be the player’s Handicap Index converted to Course Handicap depending to the tee/course for the day.
