Commemorating Charles Leroux (1856-1881)
Charles Leroux was an American balloonist and parachutist. He was born as Joseph Johnson on 31 October 1856 in Waterbury, Connecticut, United States and died on 24 September 1889 in Reval, Governorate of Estonia.
Leroux died on his 239th jump after a water landing in the city bay of Reval (now Tallinn, Estonia). A monument to him is located in Tallinn.
